The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen is one part Alice Hoffman lite and one part magical realism. A bit overwritten at times, it was a mildly enjoyable story that gave me a hankering for barbeque and hummingbird cake. It wasn't until I finished the story that I realized that, while it wasn't really my cup of tea, it was a pretty good YA novel. 48/100

The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen is one part Alice Hoffman lite and one part magical realism. A bit overwritten at times, it was a mildly enjoyable story that gave me a hankering for barbeque and hummingbird cake.
