One of my colleagues recommended Joyce Maynard's
Labor Day to me, with the assurance I could read it in one sitting. It took me two sittings, but only because I picked it up late in the evening. This clever book could be a crossover novel for teens and parents. The fast-paced story is interesting, if a bit predictable, but what kept me turning the pages was good writing. You could pick up this book, consume the whole thing during a flight, then pass it on to another reader with a smile. 79/100
