Marvelous

Today I had a lovely, leisurely brunch at Lia's with some friends, worked with one of my mentees, looked into writing fellowships, made dinner with My Heart's Desire (I prepared, he grilled), heated up crab soup from fancy mail order catalog but couldn't eat it because it smelled like cat food, ate the first cucumber from our garden, watched No Country For Old Men, tried to watch Smiley Face but it was not funny, read Girls in Trucks (mediocre), and used a really good smelling Peppermint soap.

Last night

I dreamed My Heart's Desire and I went to Hawaii; we were staying at a great place and we got a delivery of a box of presents, including two new clear Treos that were the size of the iPod Nano 3G (and it had the slide-out screen with a QWERTY keyboard); some strangers did not like us and we got into a fight in an empty room with a cerulean cement floor and where we both ended up pretty bloody and I had two black eyes.

If it's Tuesday, I must be grateful

Today I am grateful for: getting up early and going to the gym, still having my clothes on when an old guy accidentally walked in to the women's locker room, my new iPod (LOVE it!), fruit and veggies from the local farmer's market (I am thisclose to becoming obsessed), watching a friend grow and blossom, feeling like I had a good summer, having health insurance, being able to follow directions, chick flicks, and birthday cake!

Changing the way I think about food

I've been listening to Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and it's amazing -- I'm only halfway done and I already bought a share of local community supported agriculture!

It was a great show and we had perfect weather, a yummy picnic with friends, and danced under the stars.

Gratitude

Today I am grateful for: having an office (albeit temporarily) with a door I can close, Whole Foods sushi, awesome conversation about one of my favorite books, the way Charlie cat is afraid of the fan and will walk so far out of his way to avoid feeling the rushing air, and My Heart's Desire for setting up my new electronics.
