I listened to Jill Alexander Essbaum's
Hausfrau (affiliate link) and I was struck by two things. One, the story is intriuging and almost hypontic. Two, the performance is excellent. The less you know about the story, the better so I won't provide a summary. The author is also a poet and the writing is beautiful and haunting. Get your hands (or your ears) on this book.
